  2. OBJECTIONS! Mild ones, you’re right on some points.

Learning shit because you levelled up is not immersion breaking. Maybe you knew it all along. Maybe you just CAN do it now. Who cares.

5e classes are notoriously frontloaded, and multiclassing is the sole way to get a “broken” build going.

In addition, having all levels be more or less equivalent in power would make things worse, as that would mostly encourage multiclassing. An 11th level fighter should be a better fighter than a 5th level fighter mixed with a 5th level rogue. I’m not encouraging “dead levels”, but you should increase in power as you stick to your class.

Finally, the racial stuff in tasha’s is actually a good thing. Now I can always play a human, elf, or dwarf, and will never even have to consider picking a freakshit race. I am a powergamer. Yes.

I’ve only ever played 5e (am newfag, I confess), but some things about it do piss me off, most notably the fact that everything is fucking magical. I believe it’s a serviceable combat game. That said, considering how many mechanics I’m replacing and homebrewing away, I maybe I really should just play another system.

That’s retarded but at least you named yourself accordingly.
      >I am a powergamer. Yes.
I was going to go through your points but the rest of your drivel isn’t even worth a response.
      >I’ve only ever played 5e
And there’s the explanation for why. The real question is why you think your opinions are worth listening to with such a limited perspective? We’re in the deepest of Dunning-Kruger Hours here.

Reasoning matters in a story. Otherwise you end up with game-narrative dissonance, which is not the goal of an RPG.

      >5e classes are notoriously frontloaded, and multiclassing is the sole way to get a “broken” build going.
Intrinsic problem with the system for a lot of reasons.

      >In addition, having all levels be more or less equivalent in power would make things worse, as that would mostly encourage multiclassing. DND’s core resolution mechanic is linear, it doesn’t support the logarithmic or exponential growth you’re advocating. This isn’t narritive gameplay dissonance, its mechanics that don’t fit together.

      >Finally, the racial stuff in tasha’s is actually a good thing. Now I can always play a human, elf, or dwarf, and will never even have to consider picking a freakshit race.
Humans were always the best due to choice, from my understanding. But beyond that, your choice should be narrative not mechanical.

      >I am a powergamer. Yes.
lmao go play battletech or infinity or something. They have better, more fluid combat systems that will be far more rewarding to you.

      >I’ve only ever played 5e (am newfag, I confess), but some things about it do piss me off, most notably the fact that everything is fucking magical. I believe it’s a serviceable combat game.
Force yourself to play fate or savageworlds for a year, watch how differently you come out of it.

      >That said, considering how many mechanics I’m replacing and homebrewing away, I maybe I really should just play another system.
Buy “Battletech: A Game of Armored Combat” You’ll like it.

I want to play Siegemata Powered by Maiesta featuring Ketamine Yoda, it sounds fun af. Official unoffical rulebook PDF when?

Also, concerning D&D being (((fun))), don’t lay too much credit at the feet of a bad game. You guys are just fun people.
